Gulgule Recipe is famous in Punjab and Rajasthan. It prepares with Yellow Moong Dal and chana dal. It is also called as Yellow Moong Dal Punugulu. In Andhra, Urad dal is used to make Punugulu, but in Punjab yellow moong dal is used.

How to make Gulgule | Yellow Moong Dal Punugu

Ingredients to make Gulgule Recipe:

Moong Dal – 1 cup
Chana Dal – ¼ cup
Cumin seeds – 2 tablespoons
Asafoetida Hing – ¼ tablespoon
Ginger – ½ inch pieces
Green chilies – 2-3
Cooking soda – ½ tablespoon
Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
Curry leaves – few
Salt as required
Oil for deep fry

Gulgule | Yellow Moong Dal Punugulu preparation method:

1. Soak Moong dal and chana dal in water for at least 1 hour. Wash moong dal and chana dal, strain water from it.

2. Take ginger and green chilies, blend it to a fine paste and keep it aside.

3. Take a mixer jar, add moong dal, chana dal, and required salt. Blend it well to a paste. If water required, sprinkle some water drops and blend it.

4. Then, transfer this content into a mixing bowl. Now add ginger-green chili paste, finely chopped curry leaves, ½ tablespoon cooking soda, 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and salt if required. Mix them all well.

5. Meanwhile, heat oil for deep fry. When oil heated, take the mixture and drop small balls in a heated oil. Fry them until they changed to golden brown color.

6. Now the delicious and tasty moong dal Gulgule Recipe is ready to serve.

7. Serve them with any chutney recipe.

1. You can add finely chopped coriander leaves in the recipe on your choice.
